Writing the story of his life as it happened in the period between 1964 and 1967, world literature’s youngest writer of memoirs recounts many humourous events which take place in his unusual family, and in the village in which he lives. This book has a nostalgic tone and is the story of growing-up and of family. It conjures up for the reader lyrical reminiscences of the 1960s – which have made it a favourite in Croatia with both children and their parents who were children themselves during the 1960s.
The book was awarded the I.B. Mazuranic Prize for Best Children’s Book of the Year in 1992.
