Films “Conspirators” and “Solitude” at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg

Croatian writer and playwright Miro Gavran will visit Široki Brijeg from October 9 to 11, 2025, where he will take part in the Mediterranean Film Festival. During the festival, he will present two films based on his works and participate in a panel discussion. Admission to all events is free.
On Thursday, October 9 at 5 p.m., at the Široki Brijeg Public Library (Trg Gojka Šuška 5), Gavran will take part in the panel discussion Culture as Inspiration for Tourism, where journalist and editor Robert Bubalo will talk with him, actor Vinko Kraljević, and director Bobby Grubić.
On Friday, October 10 at 9 p.m., at Cinema Borak (Matije Gupca b.b.), following the awards ceremony, the first scenes from the feature film Conspirators, about Zrinski and Frankopan, will be shown. The film was written by Miro Gavran and directed by Bobby Grubić. The main roles are played by Goran Grgić, Bojana Gregorić Vejzović, Jakov Gavran, and Matea Marušić.
On Saturday, October 11 at 12 p.m., also at Cinema Borak, the multi-award-winning film Solitude will be screened. Directed by Bobby Grubić, the film is based on Gavran’s short story Embrace of the River. The leading roles are performed by Duško Valentić and Sven Jakir.
