GAVRAN'S FIVE PREMIERES IN TURKEY, A TOTAL OF 10 WORLDWIDE

Contemporary Croatian writer Miro Gavran will have an impressive five theater premieres in five different cities across Turkey in the coming months, with a total of ten premieres worldwide.

Gavran’s breakthrough in Turkey began a few years ago when two theaters from Istanbul successfully premiered his comedies "The Doll" and "My Wife’s Husband." In addition to numerous performances in Turkey’s largest city, these plays also toured across the country. Gavran’s sensibility undoubtedly resonates with Turkish actors, directors, and theater audiences. This October, his comedy "The Perfect Partner" will premiere at the Bursa State Theater in the city of Bursa. In December, the Diyarbakır State Theater in Diyarbakır will premiere the comedy "My Wife’s Husband," followed by the Luz Yapim Theater in Istanbul, which will also stage the same comedy. Later in December, the Kidonya Theater from Balıkesir will present the premiere of "The Doll," and finally, the Kayseri State Theater from Kayseri will stage the premiere of the comedy "Coffee at Noon."

It is worth noting that Miro Gavran's novel "Klara" has been published in Turkish in Istanbul, so it is not unrealistic to expect further developments in the reception of this Croatian writer in the highly populated country.

Moreover, Gavran's plays are being premiered in other countries during these months as well. On September 20, Performatrix Theater in Vuk Theater in Belgrade, Serbia, premiered the drama "Ice Cream." On October 10, the Small Drama Theater Teatron in Ekaterinburg, Russia, will stage the premiere of the comedy "The Return of My Wife’s Husband." On November 24, the 15th GavranFest festival ensemble will present a concert version of the drama "Creon’s Antigone" in Munich, Germany. The next day, on November 25, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Gavran’s comedy "Beer" will premiere, produced by Theater Smejmo se at the SiTi Theater. In January next year, Echo Teatrum from Budapest, Hungary, will premiere Gavran's comedy "The Doll."

Miro Gavran’s works have been translated into 42 languages, with over 400 theater premieres worldwide, attracting more than four million theatergoers.
