Miro Gavran Receives the “Dobrojutro More” Award for His Overall Contribution to Croatian Literature

At the 30th anniversary edition of the “Dobrojutro More” cultural and artistic event, held in Podstrana, writer Miro Gavran received the “Dobrojutro More” Award for his overall contribution to Croatian literature.

The presentation of the award to this year’s laureate was the highlight of the closing evening. Dr Hrvojka Mihanović-Salopek read the award citation, highlighting the literary oeuvre of Miro Gavran, one of the most widely read and frequently performed contemporary Croatian writers.

The “Dobrojutro More” plaque was presented to Miro Gavran by Dr Hrvojka Mihanović-Salopek and Mario Tomasović, President of the Podstrana Branch of Matica hrvatska.

In keeping with the tradition of the event, the laureate was also presented with a painting by the “Ante Kaštelančić” Art Association.

Expressing his gratitude for the prestigious recognition, Miro Gavran addressed the audience and enriched the closing evening by reading several of his poems.
