Premiere of Miro Gavran’s Play “Royalty and Rogues” in Bamberg

Today, July 10th, in Bamberg, Germany, the premiere of the play Royalty and Rogues by Croatian writer Miro Gavran will take place, performed by the St. Gangolf Theatre Ensemble. The play was directed and translated into German by Tihomir Glowatzky.

This drama had its world premiere in 1999 in English at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, one of the most prestigious theatre institutions in the United States. Set in the 10th century, the story unfolds in medieval Croatia and presents a layered and unusual narrative that blends historical events with universal themes of power, loyalty, and human nature.

Miro Gavran expressed his delight at this new staging of his play and sent warm greetings to the cast and crew in Bamberg, expressing hope that the German audience will also recognize the value and uniqueness of this work.
